Unleash the Power of your Voice

Damn Good Voices Studios, formerly Crying Out Loud have been recording voiceovers and voicereels since 1995 for a huge range of international clients covering content for commercials, corporate, gaming and animation. We also have 2 studios designed for this purpose.

Studio One is the client studio with an engineer/voice director and Studio Two is a self-op studio for voice artists who don’t have a home studio.

Our team is made up of Simon, Marina, Adam and Debbie, all of whom are hugely experienced industry practitioners (we have a combined 120 years joint experience! We've recorded thousands of voicereels, thousands of hours of content and have subsequently generated £Millions in voiceover artist fees via our talent agency Damn Good Voices. Our clients have also won voiceover awards for their work, and we continue to make excellence the cornerstone of what we do - from the detail and care we offer during the process of making a reel to a distinctive industry standard final product.

Meet the Team

  • Simon Cryer

    Creative Director
Simon began his creative life as a Music Director and Composer for Theatre, TV & Film. After a career change, he worked extensively in creative radio advertising and has directed thousands of hours of audio content. He’s also the founder of Damn Good Voices, Damn Good Talent & Anagram Talent.

  • Marina Caldarone

    Voice Director
Marina is a theatre director, acting and dialogue coach and has been a radio drama producer for 25 plus years – including spells in Ambridge as part of the directing team on The Archers. She might be better known to those of you who went to Drama School as the co-author of the international best-selling ACTIONS: THE ACTOR’S THESAURUS.

  • Debbie Seymour

    Script Consultant / Voice Director
Debbie has over 35 years experience as a director as well as leading Acting and Directing courses at RCSSD, Mountview and LAMDA. Having just returned to the UK from Italy (where she was running a training programme for Italian actors) she is working freelance as a director and acting coach.

  • Adam Farrell

    Engineer and Voice Director
Adam has a degree in audio recording & production, and then continued his training with Marina and Simon in the art of voice direction. He directs commercial animation & gaming content, and also produces the finished reel, so if you have any ideas on music or sound effects (or other random noises), he’s your man!

  • Alistair Spencer

    Junior Engineer & Voice Director
Alistair started out in science with a degree in biology. Since then, he’s been training in the art of audio engineering and voice directing to quench his creative passions. He blames his musical and theatrical family for these, and attempts to drown them out by playing the French Horn (loudly).

  • Umi MacCormac

    Studio Animal
Umi is a recused one-eyed Romanian street dog now in her forever home in Richmond. She’s happy to be interacted with, but you will need to go to her as she won’t come to you. Warning: you may get licked!
