About Us

Crying Out Loud produces high quality voice-over CDs at extremely competitive rates. Our approach is slightly different from that of our competitors in that we offer a 90 minute consultation a week or so before the recording session where we select all the material for the CD and you get a Director and Producer for the recording session. This means that we can keep recording time to a minimum, usually just an hour and a half. In our experience, we have found that rather than compromising the quality of the CD, this focuses both actor and creative team alike.

She has been a freelance radio drama producer since 1999 working both within the BBC radio drama department, and with Pier Productions and Fiction Factory.

She co-wrote Actions, An Actors’ Thesaurus with Maggie Lloyd Williams – an acting book, which is now set text in most drama schools in Britain and many in the States.  And also 3 new radio monologue and duologue publications Radioactive, compiled with Marilyn le Conte and published by Methuen books.  She has just completed The Good Audition Guides published by Nick Hern Books.

Expansion Of Radio
The recent development of digital radio has created even greater scope for actors to break in to the rewarding world of radio - the ongoing development and expansion of the medium means that much more drama is guaranteed to be produced. In addition to the BBC there are currently over eighty independent radio companies producing drama, and the list is continually growing. An actor can earn more from one lucrative voice-over job than he or she could through can make through a year's continuous Rep employment, and yet the majority of actors neglect the medium and are not equipped with an adequate showcase of their voice and audio work.
